Welcome, readers! This week we
wanted to highlight an up-and-coming feature of the Nehemiah Center—our very
own jobs readiness program!
Over the many years working in
Chisholm, we have seen over and over again the need for a jobs readiness
program. Many of our community members get passed over for jobs because they don’t
know how to present themselves in a professional way. These people are
hardworking and sincere, but they lack the skills to allow them to use their skills; that’s why we started
EMPLOY, a free and encouraging class taught by our own Ms. Tidwell and Ms. Rhonda with the help of local professionals and entrepreneurs. In the
project, people learn how to dress, how to approach an interview, and how to
build a résumé. In addition, they gain valuable references from our center. EMPLOY
Nehemiah truly changes lives and we are excited to kick off our next session!
Our next set of classes begins on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at 10:00 AM. The program lasts six weeks
and is held at the Nehemiah Center. If you have questions about enrolling or teaching in EMPLOY
